Junior Orange Bowl Hosts JV Basketball Classic
Boys Junior Varsity Basketball teams from across Miami-Dade County will gather on Friday and Saturday, February 3 -4, at the Miami Springs Recreation Center to compete in the 2012 Junior Orange Bowl JV Basketball Classic. Eight schools will be competing in this year’s tournament including Hialeah Gardens, whose Boys Varsity team defeated Archbishop Moeller (OH) in the final of this year’s Junior Orange Bowl Basketball Classic. The other schools that will be competing are: Carol City, Norland, Mater Academy, Coral Reef, Palmetto, Columbus, and Coral Gables. The tournament will also feature an educational seminar by former NBA All-Star point guard, Wali Jones. Jones played 13 years in the NBA and ABA from 1964-1976, including 6 years with the Philadelphia 76ers where he won an NBA championship. Jones will be speaking to the participating teams and fans in attendance on Saturday, February 4.
