JOBC Executive Director Position

The Junior Orange Bowl Committee (JOBC) has commenced a nationwide search for a new Executive Director. “We are looking for a candidate who will help grow the Junior Orange Bowl Festival to the next level as an organization”, says current JOBC President Don Slesnick III. “The JOBC has a long and rich history, with many wonderful accomplishments of which we are proud. It is our goal to build on this tradition by expanding our reach, increasing the quality of programing, all in best effort to serve the youth and families of our local and international communities”.

The Junior Orange Bowl Committee is dedicated to celebrating youths from around the world by showcasing their talents in over 15 different events that are as diverse as the children that participate in them. The world is very well represented as children come to Coral Gables from over 75 different countries to participate in the Junior Orange Bowl Festival. Such international events include the International Tennis and Golf Championships as well as the International Chess Tournament. The Junior Orange Bowl also offers arts and scholar events, such as a photo contest, and a writing competition. JOBC High School athletic events including, a basketball tournament, and cross country meet, are among the most highly regarded events during their respective seasons.

The Junior Orange Bowl is perhaps best known in Coral Gables for the annual Parade which takes place on Miracle Mile. The JOBC Parade celebrated its 63rd birthday this past season, and is one of the most popular community holiday events in Coral Gables.

“We are excited about the direction of the Junior Orange Bowl and look forward to starting anew with an executive director who shares the same vision of growth as our Committee Members” says Slesnick.
